It's Easy 1-2-3 to Participate

1.  Select your level of participation
2.  Complete the application form
3.  Submit your application form

Step 1: Select your level of Participation

Please select a level of participation that will help offset some or your entire carbon footprint. You may either enter your participation level on form 1A “Standard Participation Levels” or on form 1B “Custom Participation Level”.

Use "Calculate Your Carbon Footprint" to estimate the carbon footprint of your home.

1A. Standard Participation Level
Select from one of the standard preselected levels of carbon offset.

ATypical electricity usage*105.002.5
BTypical electricity and natural gas usage* 157.503.75
CTypical electricity and automobile(s) usage* 2010.005
DTypical electricity, natural gas and automobile(s) usage* 2512.506.25

*This typical carbon footprint is based on an EMC home in Georgia using about 15,000 kWh of electricity, about 880 therms of natural gas and about 1120 gallons of gasoline each year. Numbers are rounded. Your actual carbon footprint may vary.
**Typically one acre of pine forest will sequester about 4 tons of C02 each year. The actual tons of C02 sequestered per acre of forest will vary. See "how much of C02 can a tree store?" This number will be reviewed and adjusted annually based on the actual sequestration rates of the forests used in the program.

1B. Custom Participation Level
Enter the actual tons of carbon dioxide you wish to offset each year. Then click on the Calculate button.
